What is the Arizona ESA?

The Empowerment Scholarship Account program is Arizona's education savings account, run by the Arizona Department of Education. Every Arizona child who is eligible to enroll in a public school can apply, and curriculum is an approved expense category.

Awards for grades 1 to 12 are typically around $7,000 per student per year. ESA purchases currently run through ClassWallet, where Chalky is an approved vendor. Program details live on the Arizona Department of Education's ESA pages.

One subscription per child covers the whole reading curriculum for grades 1 to 8.

Chalky documents what your child read and which reading standards each book covered. If your program asks how funds were used, the downloadable learning report gives you that record.
